Why Lose Weight?
With 2/3 of adults in the United States being over weight, it has become a serious problem and too often overlooked. This post will help outline a few Pro’s and Con’s of Why you should Lose Weight or at least keep it off!
First, there are countless problems that can arise out of having too much fat on the body. The rise in many serious health conditions can be directly attributed to being overweight.
Some of these health conditions are:
1. Diabetes- Type 2 diabetes and obesity have been intimately connected. More than 85% of people that have type 2 diabetes, are also overweight. Type 2 diabetes occurs when the body can no longer respond correctly to a hormone released by the pancreas, known as insulin.
2. Heart Disease- Obesity is a major risk factor for heart attack and stroke.Your risk for having a heart attack or stroke increases 20% when you are obese.
3. Gallstones- People who have a problem with obesity are more likely to develop gallstones, than people who are at their proper weight. In women, this risk is even greater.
4. Osteoarthritis- People who are obese put added weight on their joints, increasing their chances of developing osteoarthritis.
Now that we know a few negative things that can happen as a result of being overweight, let’s look at the benefits of losing weight:
1. Increased energy levels- This is especially true when people start to exercise as part of a healthy diet plan.
2. Cholesterol levels are lower- High LDL cholesterol is a leading cause of heart attack, so it is important to get this number as low as possible.
3. Lower blood pressure- High blood pressure can cause heart attack and stroke, so lowering this is great for your body.
4. Less pains and aches- Many people who are obese often experience painful and swollen joints, due to the pressure from the excess weight. These pains and aches are common in the back, hips and knee’s. Losing weight can help take this pressure off, resulting is less pain.
5. Improved breathing- many people who are overweight have problems breathing due to the excess fat in the body, restricting the natural movement of the lungs. Losing weight enables you to breathe easier.
6. Sleep better, and feel more alert during the day- Often people who are obese have difficulty sleeping, and many have a condition called Sleep Apnea. Sleep Apnea is basically when you stop breathing several times during the night due to airway obstructions. Sometimes, this is caused by a layer of fat around the neck, which chokes off the trachea during sleep.
7. Less chance of developing type 2 diabetes- People who are their ideal weight, have a much lower chance of developing type 2 diabetes.

Many thanks for the article. I liked it. You have a very well-designed site.
Thanks for the weight loss information, it is refreshing to see how HCG works and what is the best approach.
It’s true! I’ve had more energy and have had the motivation to work out more.
I am very happy with the number of pounds I have shed. I am learning that there is so much more to the whole process than a smaller number on the scale. One thing for me is beng successful! The pounds are melting away. I am being rearded for sticking with the progrm and everyday that encourages me. I can plan on being lighter in a few days. Cool huh!
My appetite is small and the correct amount of foods fill me up. I love to cook and am good at it. Often in the past on a Sat. or Sun. I would spend 8 (+) hours in the kitchen cooking, baking and then all the clean up. What I am finding with eating simpler is all the time I have on my hands. I am looking for things to do to replace kitchen time.
I thought I would read more … began with my magazines … all foodie mags -not good… so got books from the library. Even my two big dogs are ahppy with the plan … with all my extra time now they are getting more and longer walks. I need a new hobby.
The discipline to follow the plan (to me anyway) is not that tough, primarily becasue I am rewarded by my efforts. Everyday is a new discovery into myself and my relationship with food.
More from Claudette: Forgotto mention that one of favorite authors writes mysteries and the main character is a cateror … more foodie’s in my life. I started reading books by other favorite authors.
Today my weight is a number I have not seen since 1993 and I am thrilled. The less people see of me the better … hee hee hee. I
I heard a rumor that Vitality Med spa is opening a new location in the arrowhead or glendale area. Is this true? If so, where will it be at and will it offer the same lipotropic and b12 shots as the scottsdale arizona office? Thankyou
One other thing that is essential is to reduce ldl cholesterol naturally and to take supplements. You can’t devalue the benefits that you simply get with dietary supplements. It has helped me along with exercising and having a wholesome diet.
In order to cope with diabetes, it is important to maintain weight and exercise regularly. Alcohol consumption is better if cut out completely and smoking is an absolute health risk to both the lungs and diabetics. This is just my 2 cents but I think these things are overlooked too much.
Thank you very much for the information about weight loss. I need to make a change in my life before something happens and it seems like this will resolve my concerns.
You hit the nail on the head with that one, my diabetes was uncontrollable until I discovered that my weight was making it worse. Since my weight loss adventure began, I am finding that I feel better every week. I am now taking a multi vite to make up for my malnurished body and have seen a reduction in my blood pressure. Dont allow yourself to ignore your weight problem.
I will attest the hcg drops are a joke, dont bother. My boyfreind did the shots and he had consistant results through the duration of the program.
Im a believer, hCG DOES work! Vitality Med Spa in Scottsdale came highly recommended by my girlfriends so I actually tried it! Wonderful results!
2 out of every 3 adults in America are Obese??? Scary at just the thought of where we are headed!
Excellent writing about Blog health and weight loss using hcg, it is actually useful for me. keep writing and happy blogging.
Just thought i would comment and say that obesity is a disease that is not easily corrected and those that suffer or cannot lose weight easily, need help. A few health issues from this post caught my attention on a personal level. Sleep apnea is a very sad condition. A friend of mine is at least 80lbs overweight and has struggled with his weight for over ten years now. His sleep apnea has gotten worse and the device he uses is of moderate assistance at best. He also has high blood pressure and is not very active since he cannot move very well. The Doctor said that if he doesnt lose his weight then he is slowly killing himself, painfully too. It takes motivation and a good support system but it is possible to lose the weight before you lose to the battle.
I have family members that are dealing with diabetes and I have watched their health slowly deteriorate. They are all over weight and have horrible diets. If those that struggle with diabetes would make losing weight a priority, their highest priority, they would not hurt their loved ones so much.
Interesting take on this issue. I for one have seen the risks of ignoring weight gain for just a few years. Diabetes should be enough motivation for people to pick up the phone and call you. Thank you for sharing it with us.
One thing that is often understated is the fact that the hcg protocol can help increase energy. I believe that as the body uses fat stores, the body can use them a little more freely than food, without the need of digestion. Losing weight is by default since the hcg allows the person to experience an elevated level of energy on much less food intake. MarkS
Its always good to get a fresh reminder of why we should lose weight. Only those that are obese can relate to the information in this blog.
Really great informative blog that spells it out simply. You forget that carrying excess weight can be so detrimental to your health. It is scary that 2 out of 3 americans are overweight, will it get worse? Thank you for the information.
I agree with everything on this blog. It does not take very much homework from those that have lost weight to see how it really works.
